As an online entrepreneur I’m inspired by the biographies and philosophies of marketing guru’s and business leaders like Richard Branson, Seth Godin and Steve Jobs. However, I’ve always been interested in the philosophies of ‘thought leaders’ in the spiritual, scientific and philosophical realms, and the degree to which their ideas all overlap.
Some of those I’ve found inspirational include Dr Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Seneca, Anthony Robins, Dale Carnegie, Albert Einstein, Eckhart Tolle, Napoleon Hill, Thomas Edison, and Lao Tsu …to name but a few.
Today I want to bring you some great quotes which are very relevant to the online entrepreneur, from someone who is not usually associated with marketing or entrepreneurship: Albert Einstein.
Though mainly known as a great physicist, Einstein was one of the greatest motivational and personal-development thinkers of the 20th century. When you consider the close connection between quantum physics, spiritualism, and personal development, it’s not at all surprising. This ‘overlap’ was put far more eloquently than I ever could by Einstein himself:
“All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.”
Due to his brilliance Einstein was often called upon to offer opinions on topics beyond the realm of physics; thus the wide range of inspired quotations.
The nuclear physicist Robert Oppenheimer shared his impressions of Einstein by saying, “He was almost wholly without sophistication and wholly without worldliness . . . There was always with him a wonderful purity at once childlike and profoundly stubborn.”
I hope you are inspired by these pearls from Einstein:
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”
“Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex… It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.”
“All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded the individual.”
“I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.”
“Intellectuals solve problems, geniuses prevent them.”
“Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.”
“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”
“A man should look for what is, and not for what he thinks should be.”
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
“Everything should be as simple as it is, but not simpler.”
“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.”
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”
“No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
“The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.”
“Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them.”
“In order to be an immaculate member of a flock of sheep, one must above all be a sheep oneself.”
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
“I am thankful to all those who said NO to me. It’s because of them I did it myself.”
“There is only one road to human greatness: through the school of hard knocks.”
