In his book ‘Influence‘, marketing maestro Robert Cialdini cites ‘Scarcity’ as one of his six golden persuasion principles. (The others, in case you haven’t read this seminal work, are: Reciprocity, Commitment and Consistency, Social Proof, Authority, and Liking.)
The other side of the same coin is Urgency, and used together, the two make for a potent weapon for increasing online sales.
